An initiative launched in August 2009, Discover Green is a series of e-mailers sent with the purpose to keep guests updated of the green features added at Treetops while offering some health tips that are often neglected in their daily lives.

MIND – GO GREEN: ENERGY CONSERVATION & RECYCLING

Understanding the growing concerns on environmental issues faced in today’s society, Treetops seek to impose our intrinsic belief of playing a part in being “Corporate Social Responsible” for a worthy global cause.

As part of our desire to be an environmental friendly organisation, Treetops has achieved savings of up to 50% on its electricity consumption since year 2009 with the installation of green retrofits and  having greener touches like the use of energy saving bulbs within the estate.

Recycling bins are also conveniently located within the premises to encourage recycling amongst our guests. Waste are also sorted at the Bin Centre before final disposal. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle with us today!

BODY – EXCELLENT INDOOR AIR QUALITY

All apartments in Treetops are equipped with air filtering systems. This system helps to remove the harmful dust particles and bacteria in the air that can be detrimental to human health. At the same time, it ensures an adequate supply of oxygen indoors by reducing unnecessary amount of carbon dioxide. Readings taken during regular checks have shown that the indoor air quality in our apartments is better as compared to outdoor air.

BODY – SMOKING & NON-SMOKING APARTMENTS

Well separated Smoking & Non-Smoking Apartments ensures that the Non-smokers staying at Treetops will not have to put up with the smell of cigarettes that might jeopardise their health and well-being. Smokers will be discouraged to smoke in certain areas of the premises.

BODY – NON TOXIC CLEANING MATERIALS AND MISTING TREATMENTS AGAINST MOSQUITOES

All the cleaning materials used in the apartments are certified as environmental-friendly and non-toxic. Non-toxic misting treatment against mosquitoes is being used instead of the normal fogging to prevent emission of unhealthy fumes. By doing so, we seek to minimise the exposure of chemicals that are harmful to both our body and the environment.

BODY – ORTHOPEDIC MATTRESSES

Statistics have shown that Serviced Apartments’ guests spend more time in the apartment than Hotel guests. Treetops uses certified orthopedic mattresses designed by top orthopedic surgeons and clinicians from leading medical centre in all the apartments. With that, guests can enjoy a mattress that is ergonomically designed for correct orthopedic support and advanced comfort to improve the quality of sleep.

BODY – BATHROOM AMENITIES

As of November 2009, all the toiletries placed in guest rooms will be 100% free of phthalates, sodium lauryl/ laureth sulphate, propylene glycol and parabens. Produced by an environmentally conscious company, the products contain many natural ingredients like herbal and plant extracts, for soft and smooth skin without the use of harsh chemicals. All the cleaning materials used in the apartments are also certified as environmental-friendly and non-toxic.

Your dining experience here at Treetops is more than just great food. It is a culinary experience centered on a balanced diet, fresh ingredients, healthy options and a shared sense of environmental and social responsibility. Aside from local delicacies and western delights, the Sunbird Terrace Café at Treetops also offers a delectable selection of healthier food for the more health conscious guests.

BODY – 24/7 HOT WATER SUPPLY

Treetops has replaced individual electronic hot water heaters in the apartments with a energy efficient centralised hot water system to supply continuous hot water 24/7 to all rooms at Treetops. Guests can have an uninterrupted relaxing hot shower or bath any day, any time. Treetops has also achieved greater energy efficiency with this new retrofit and helped in the conservation of the environment while enhancing your stay experience with us.

SOUL – INDULGE IN SPA OR JOIN OUR GUEST ACTIVITIES

Guests can rejuvenate their senses with a range of pampering beauty and Spa treats within mere steps of their apartment at the Treetops. Managed by The Ayuthaya Spa, the treatments utilize traditional holistic methods in combination with modern expertise to make pamper and relax one’s mind and body. Couples with quality services provided by professional Spa therapists, guests can indulge themselves with what they deserve and treat their body and soul to its much needed rejuvenation.

An interesting collection of guest activities are being organised at Treetops to make create a more memorable and delightful stay. This is also part of Treetops endeavour as a brand ambassador to constantly promote Singapore as an ideal destination for both business and leisure. These activities are not only fun, but also enriching as it helps showcase Singapore as a vibrant, multi-cultural society that might not often be experience by tourists. Guests will be able to better understand different traditions and celebrations in Singapore, as well as interact with other guests, and staff at Treetops. Guests can treat their mind and soul to a much needed relaxation and rejuvenation through the meditation classes that we organize to help Guests unwind and relax for better health and well-being. We will engage professionals to teach our guests techniques to relax in hope to help them achieve a peace of mind amidst the daily hustle and bustle

SOUL – BE INSPIRED – GO GREEN DAY

This ongoing campaign aims to drive the message of caring for the environment through inculcating healthy living practices in our daily lives, and is held on every alternate Friday of each month. All our staff will be in a green t-shirt on that day and encouraged to practice the 3 Don’ts

• Don’t drive; take public transport instead,
• Don’t take the lift; use stairs wherever possible, and
• Don’t take fried food; opt for a healthy menu of fruits and vegetables instead.

Green apples and other fruits are being distributed on this day to guests, whom are also invited to join in our green day activities. In our effort to extend our energy conservation initiatives, we would also switch off the water feature at the lobby area two hours earlier than usual on Go Green Day.
